SIGNS YOU NEED AIR CONDITIONING REPAIRS AND NOT AN AIR CONDITIONER REPLACEMENT

Here is a list to help you with the most common problems that lead to needing air conditioning repairs not an air conditioner replacement:

WIRING ISSUES

Wiring issues are one of the most common reasons for air conditioning repairs. This is very dangerous and could be a fire hazard for homes. If installed incorrectly, they may prevent the system from receiving power and cooling your home.

INDOOR COIL

Your home’s A/C unit has a coil inside of it. The coil contains Freon which cools the air pumped throughout your home. If you notice your unit’s coil covered in frosty ice, this may be the repair you need. This can be caused by many things, from an improper amount of Freon to a blocked air duct.

REFRIGERANT / FREON

If refrigerant aka freon leaks out of your A/C unit, it may be difficult to detect without proper training because it is odorless and colorless. However, it can be dangerous if leaking. The most obvious sign of a refrigerant leak is a system working really hard to run. You might notice a rise in your energy bill as the most telling sign.

FAN

The outdoor fan disperses super heat as the airflow passes over your condenser coil, located in your unit outside. This cools the refrigerant in order to be compressed and sent back into your house for another cycle. If your fan stops working, your system can overheat in a short amount of time, potentially causing internal damage to the unit’s compressor. If you notice your fan has stopped working, turn your system off immediately so no further damage is caused, and then call us for a service visit and diagnosis.
